Icarus is just giving me nothing but issues!

I don't know if it's just me, but it's just not doing a very good job at divining the camera motion. I guess I should have used a tripod and not free motion, but come on. The camera was NOT moved very much during filming. Just the normal amount of somebody filming free hand.

But as it is, my character slides around, and doesn't stay where he's supposed to. I've done the Icarus thing over and over, and it just is being stupid!

Also, it's not allowing me to use a clip longer than 172 frames. Anybody else running into this?

Animatic Fun Times

K, i tried to just upload an animated gif of my animatic because i thought it would save time and i wouldn't have to deal with vimeo uploading times....but

Things never work out the easy way....at least in the middle of the night you don't have to wait hours for your video to be converted.

This animatic is sort of rough, mostly because I just wanted something DONE for this project. Having an animatic makes me feel like I'm committed to the idea, which is a nice feeling.

I think I need to add some cursory text, etc. so that other people besides me know what's going on in it. I mean, for all anybody outside our class knows, the robot just made a dumb "your mom" joke and the person got pissed off.

Also, the actor in animatic should be interpreted as androgynous, because I've been having trouble getting and actor for this. I think i've settled on one of my gal pals. But i didn't feel like adding girly features to these sketchies.

Robot

I'm getting a slow start, but here's a work-in-progress shot of my robot guy so far. He's sparkly. I may take out the sparkle-ness and just make him shiny plastic.

I've remodeled him several times, because he didn't turn out cute enough. He kept ending up all gangly and to tall.

I think perhaps my digital picture may not be the best for shooting footage for Icarus. I'm going to try and make it work just to test it out, but I think borrowing a DV camera and a tripod will get rid of a lot of the headache. Or maybe even just putting this camera on some sort of tripod-like device. Lot's of correction going on, maybe i'll actually export it and import it into blender tomorrow. It's late and i'm sleepy.

Cheap Composite with Bear

I couldn't just leave him alone...in the dark.

So here's a super quick and dirty video of them terrorizing what I think is Tokyo, the ONLY place I think an anmigarumi monster could exist.

This monster is based off of a toy that I actually made. Although, the little stuffed bear I made is crocheted and not knitted, and is a grass green color. But tiny bear isn't evil, like the big blue bear.

Also, the audio turned out VERY loud, be sure to turn it down before you watch!

Knit Monster

This is the plain footage by itself. I wanted him to walk as if he were quite large, like a giant, knit monster.
